The beach is accessible via an easement that goes directly from behind the pool to the beach, so there are no roads to cross.  It is an easy 250-yard walk to the beach over sand and boardwalk.

St. George Island and the Plantation do not have any specific rules as to what can be brought to the beach (that we know of), so feel free to pack up coolers and head over.  Just please be sure to bring home whatever you bring there - one of the best assets of the island is the cleanliness of the beach.

We've built the outside of our house to make you feel as if you're in a tropical oasis.  For those days when you simply want to float in the pool, you'll find a 15x32 kidney shaped heated pool with a waterfall, built-in seating and an oversized stay-cool sundeck.  The pool is surrounded by a wrought-iron fence which allows for more natural viewing of the surrounding trees and vegetation than those vinyl white fences you'll see around the island.

In addition, there is a two-tier wood deck leading from the house to the pool fence (no sand or sand spurs on the way to the pool!) to provide additional sun/shade areas as well as a place for a relaxing lunch or casual dinner out by the grill.

Since the kitchen is on the upper floor of the house, we built a wet bar with a mini fridge on the ground level of the house to keep the beverages and the blender close at hand.  In addition, you'll find a separate stereo system in the wet bar cabinets with a multi-disc CD player connected to "landscape" speakers out around the pool and the ground-level deck - it sounds AWESOME!  No need for a boom box!  Don't forget to check out our extensive CD library up in the living area - we have quite a selection of fun music for you to play while you're enjoying the pool area.

We had hoped to build a permanent sand volleyball court next to the pool, but our request was denied by the Plantation Homeowner's Association.  We already had the volleyball and badminton sets which you'll find in the ground floor closet - feel free to temporarily set up the net on our property or at the beach.  We also have a horseshoe set which we hope to be able to leave outside for your use....if not, you'll also find it in the closet.

On your way back into the house, you'll find a footwash spigot out by the pool as well as an enclosed outdoor shower under the house - we appreciate you using these and leaving the sand outside!
